Founded in San Francisco in the late 1990s, AudibleOddities has grown into a premier mastering studio serving artists and labels worldwide. With thousands of albums mastered and billions of streams, Hatfield has firmly established himself as a leading engineer in the art of mastering, trusted as the final step for projects at every level.

His work and perspective have been featured in leading publications such as Resident Advisor, Wired, and XLR8R, as well as in The Music Producer’s Survival Guide, reflecting both his technical authority and influence within the broader music community.

Earlier in his career, Hatfield was also recognized as an artist, with work included in FACT Magazine’s 100 Greatest IDM Tracks of All Time, underscoring a long-standing and deeply informed connection to music at every level of the creative process.

Prior to focusing exclusively on mastering, he built an extensive recording and performance career, touring internationally with his own music and performing at institutions and festivals including Sónar (Spain), PS1 (New York), SFMOMA (San Francisco), Transmediale (Berlin), and Liquid Room (Tokyo). This experience continues to inform his work, giving him a deeply practical understanding of how music translates from the studio into real-world listening environments.

Known for a refined, detail-driven approach, Hatfield brings a balance of technical precision and musical intuition to every project. His philosophy is rooted in the belief that mastering is both a science and an art, an unquantifiable blend of emotion and technique. He approaches each project with the same level of care and intent, ensuring the final result not only meets the highest professional standards, but fully represents the artist’s vision.
